Chris Golden Head Bandy Pulls it off!
In a great night at the Chand Garden, the Bintangs gathered to celebrate the 2008 season and award the BJ Morgan for the Fairest and Best player for 2008.

After a even start to the season by many players including Michael "Sick Mick" Bourke, Matt "Stevo" Stephens , Craig "Emo" Thrupp, Paul Byrne and Steven Yates, it became a three horse race between Chris Bandy, Dave "Butcher" Edwards and Matt Jolly. Butcher grabbed the early ascendancy with some good games, before MJ took the lead with strong games in the Champs and Bali 9s. But it was the eventual winner, Chris Bandy who voted consistently in most games and with a BOG performance against Thailand who came out the eventual winner, with 59 votes. Second was MJ with 50 votes and 3rd Butcher on 42.

Other winners on the night were;
  • Chris Elstoft for the best mark of the year when he soared into the dizzy heights of Singapore's skyline on the back of Butcher to pull down a huge mark.
  • Leading goal kicker of 2008 was awarded to Butcher by more than double and he also kicked a quarter of all Bintang goals this year.
  • Best Clubman was duly awarded to the Eddys Cath and John for their tireless work around the club.
  • Best goal was awarded to Paul Byrne for a snap that he made more difficult than it actually was, by running closer the boundary.
  • The ANZ Champagne Moment was awarded to the BIS bulldogs for winning the Asian Champs in the junior division.
  • Coaches award was won by Jerry The Enforcer Rouwhorst for his improvement throughout the year.
  • And of course the Golden Head Band was won by Chris Golden Head Bandy for well... too much stuff to mention...

On what was a great night had by all, that was well compared by John "Ox" Palmer, arguably the winner on the night was football.
